Proverbs are truly droll

This was a quote that I thought about as a parody of a chapter of the Art of War, which soon became a 4 kanji proverb in Japanese (Fuurinkazan) and how I find them occasionally so droll. I took the 4 kanji themselves which mean nothing on their own (as they are abbreviations!) and created 4 new sayings from them, which are in Japanese on the front, and English on the back, building up to the main quote on the bottom (again in English in Japanese). Here is the text from the design:

風の残酷なように
林の荒涼なように
火の残忍なように
山の急峻なように

諺は本当につまらない

As it appears on the back

風 Like a cruel wind
林 Like a desolate forest
火 Like a brutal fire
山 Like a steep mountain

If you truly want to know what the Fuurinkazan is expanded, it is:

風のように速い動く、
林のように静かにする、
火のように激しい攻撃、
山のように無敵の防衛。

(Each first kanji on each line put together reads Fuurinkazan), and the translation is thus:

Move as swift like the wind
Be quiet like the forest
Attack fiercely like fire
An invincible defence like the mountain.
